Through my teens I always had oily/combination skin. I suffered acne because of this. Now, I am a mom and breastfeeding, my skin dramatically changed to super dry. I did not really notice it until four weeks postpartum. My face was very itchy and even when I put moisturizer, it did not help. Then I read that breastfeeding can dry a mother’s skin and hormones plays a big role too.
I was using Urban Decay Foundation and it was fine. My skin loved it, but the coverage was not enough for pictorials for my blog. Then, I went to Sephora and asked one of their make up professionals which foundation will work well with dry, sensitive skin. My skin brakes out easy if it does not like the brand/product. That’s one of the reason I can’t use Mac face products. My face breaks out minutes upon using Mac.
Then the lady suggested to try Hourglass foundation stick. I was a bit skeptical and I had a bad experience with Hourglass foundation in the past. It dried out and clumped. So, I had my doubts and I told the lady that my skin is very dry. I don’t want to look caky. The great thing about Sephora is their return policy, if you don’t like the product you can simply return or exchange the item (the saleslady disclosed).
I bought Hourglass foundation stick and gave it a try for our next photoshoot! Man oh man did I fell in love! It glided smoothly on my face and it’s very easy to blend. I use my beauty blender to blend and it gives me full coverage with only a few streaks. Hourglass redeemed themselves and created an amazing product. It is VERY pricey tho! That’s why I only use it for photoshoots to make it last longer. Is it worth the money? It depends on your budget and how much you are going to use it.
For me, it definitely is worth buying. Especially if you are a blogger and you need to look flawless on camera and you have dry skin. Give this foundation stick a try. It works well with Anastasia Contour Stick. Easy to blend and gives full coverage.
